New Record and Show in Brooklyn on Friday, January 27!

Big news! The new Speak Onion EP, IBN027: The Illusion of Depth is coming on January 27, and to celebrate the release, I’ll be playing a show at The Charleston in Brooklyn! The lineup for the show is fully amazing including  the mighty Duran Duran Duran in from Berlin, Watabou, Bad Timing and Digit216! We’re going to wild out and celebrate at max volume, so don’t sleep!

Speak Onion and David B. Applegate on Soipsistic NATION Podcast!

You’ll hear us mention the upcoming B’ak’tun Waning project on the podcast. This is a project that I.B.N. is working on with David Morneau, where we count down to the Apocalypse (as predicted by the Mayan Calendar) on 12/21/2012 by releasing a new eschaton-themed track on the 21st day of each month. Speak Onion is up first, so expect new a new Speak Onion track on 1/21/2012. More details to come about all that, so keep an eye on the B’ak’tun Waning page at Immigrant Breast Nest.

The podcast also includes a new and unreleased Speak Onion joint called “Salt In The Symbols.” This track is taken from a new Speak Onion E.P. to be released at the end of January, 2012. There will be four new Speak Onion bangers to shred your mind brains. And, we’ll be celebrating that new release with a live show at The Charleston in Brooklyn on 1/27/2012, so keep an eye on this site for more details about that.

Speak Onion at 13 Thames on Friday, Jan. 7

I’m bashing in the new year this Friday at this show at 13  Thames. Stoked to play alongside Digit216and Deli Snail & Automaton (a.k.a. Insect Deli & Automaton) again, and Makh & Gstompz and Lance Blisters for the first time and everyone else too. Should be a super fun night, even if I do have to eat tons of candy to stay awake that late.

Xrin Arms, sadly, won’t be able to make it up to NYC due to some rough times out on tour, so the GBM show is cancelled, and there will be only 4 bands at this show at Port d’Or. Still mad freshness guaranteed, though. Pour one out on the curb for XA, though.

Sorry to flip the script at the last minute, but Sunday’s show has been moved to Silent Barn instead of Party Expo. Speak Onion vs. Digit216 battle set was deemed too dangerous for a “party” space, and we had to move the show for insurace reasons. There will still be plenty of pounding beats, and full on bass bL00r, but just in a different place. Silent Barn is, of course, well suited to handle the mayhem.

YES! I’m playing at a rad place with some of my favorite old friends and some awesome new friends. This will be a bonkers night for sure. From the Free Techno of David B. Applegate to the straight weirdness of Bubblegum Octopus and Mysterious House to the true rocking of Xrin Arms, and of course some shattered rhythms from your #1 boss of drum’n'noise, the party will NOT BE STOPPING FOR ANYTHING. Speak Onion at ExperiMENTAL Fest, This Sunday, Aug. 8. NOISE BBQ!

I’ll be bringing the drum’n'noise furor to Goodbye Blue Monday this coming weekend for the ExperiMENTAL Fest. It’ll be the Sunday afternoon, Noise BBQ portion of the fest, so that rules. I think I’ll even be playing outside. There’s a lot of other cool acts on the bill as well, including long-time home-girl, Joy Through Noise. New beats and bonks, some sunshine and intense volume. Sounds like a plan, right?
