The time is here. Trigger Pusher is now available for you to download from Immigrant Breast Nest. This record grew out of the live performance style I developed throughout 2009 by playing all the shows I could. These 2 tracks are very long and, like my live sets, full of drastic shifts and changes, beats and loops working their way in and out of noise, and just non-stop intensity right from me to you. I’m as proud of this music as anything I’ve ever made, and it represents exactly what Speak Onion is about. This form of electronic music is the purest way I can think of to communicate what I think is good and exciting. There’s no needless DSP wankery, no long DJ-friendly intros and outros, no ironic samples, no pretentious art-house rambling, no bullshit. Just as much awesome sound as I could come up with and shove into 2 tracks. I hope you like it. I can’t wait to drop these beats in my upcoming live sets.
Trigger Pusher is, as everything else I do, available as a free download. Click the cover to get it. The label’s promo text is after the cover.
Just in time to ruin New Year’s Eve parties from coast to coast, Speak Onion’s latest release, “Trigger Pusher,” aims to capture the style of his live sets, overflowing with energy and unpredictability. These two very-long-form tracks roller-coaster into and out of of chaos; stomping, clawing and weirding out, unfurling into your ears and brain. While it may have the soul of a fire-breathing basement party, “Trigger Pusher” has more than enough acrobatic beats, king-sized basslines, and warped hooks to make it a potential headphone favorite. And it’s all done with Speak Onion’s patented intensity. Warn your ear drums and go for it.
